Gilmore GPs to get increased supplies of COVID-19 vaccines

Jul 16, 2021

In a major boost to the COVID-19 vaccination program, the Morrison Government is ramping up the weekly number of doses of Pfizer being provided to GPs across Australia, including Gilmore.

From July 19, the Morrison Government is receiving an average of one million Pfizer doses a week. This is compared to an average of 300,000 to 350,000 per week in May and June.

These additional Pfizer doses mean more opportunities for Australians, including those in Gilmore to get a COVID-19 Vaccine, including through your GP.

There are over 4,000 GPs around Australia participating the COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout, with 900 GPs administering Pfizer, including over 300 in New South Wales.

We anticipate that once more supplies become available, all GPs participating in the rollout program will be able to administer both Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

Senator for New South Wales Jim Molan said the increased doses would give Gilmore more choice and local GPs more capacity.

“This is a big boost to our rollout program in Gilmore and the rest of the country, which will help protect more Australians.

“The situation in Sydney has reminded us just how dangerous this virus is and why it is so important to get vaccinated.

“With the number of COVID-19 vaccines becoming more available to GPs and vaccination centres, I’m urging those eligible to roll up their sleeves and get the jab,” Senator Molan said.

The Morrison Government is also providing an additional 150,000 Pfizer and 150,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses to New South Wales, providing additional support during the lockdown.
