An innovative female-led startup in Eden-Monaro is being supported by the Australian Government to grow its businesses and help in our economic recovery.
Hormosira Pty Ltd is among 38 businesses to share in nearly $12 million under Round two of the Boosting Female Founders Initiative.
Hormosira Pty Ltd will use its $115,500 in funding to pioneer the development of kelp farming aquaculture on the NSW South Coat.
“This funding under the Boosting Female Founders Initiative is about helping women with innovative business ideas in their journey to reach their full potential,” Minister Taylor said.
“From projects to help parents and children with their mental health to new food manufacturing and medical monitoring systems – these startups demonstrate the incredible Aussie ingenuity we want to foster around the country.”

“I am delighted to see Hormosira Pty Ltd being able to take the next step in its commercialisation journey through this Initiative,” Senator Molan said.
“Not only is this great news for the hardworking female-founders, but also our local community with the economic and job benefits it can bring.”
Successful recipients will receive grants of between $25,000 and $480,000 under the Initiative, which was expanded under the 2020 Women’s Economic Security Statement.
