WORKING FOR NSW
Our state of New South Wales has faced several unprecedented natural disasters in recent years. As a volunteer of the RFS I have witnessed first-hand the ferocity of bushfires. I have also seen the devastating impacts of flooding across the state in recent times. I work closely with State Governments and local communities to ensure that those impacted receive the support they need.
Information on disaster assistance can be found on the Australian Government’s Disaster Assist Website.
As a veteran, I continue to support individuals who have served in the Australian Defence Force. I am constantly engaging with veterans’ groups and individual veterans on a range of issues. I am honoured to be regularly invited to address RSL branches and other veteran groups around New South Wales.
We need to continue to support our ADF personnel as they transition into civilian life, as well as fight for issues our veterans face in their post-service lives.
I am proud to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. I am honoured to be the patron of The Grub Club. This non-for-profit organisation strives to honour SGT Matthew Locke MG, who was a member of my body guard in Iraq and died in combat in Afghanistan. Visit The Grub Club Facebook page to find out more about the work of The Grub Club.
I am a strong advocate for Australian sovereign defence capability, and an enthusiastic supporter of New South Wales industries’ contribution to the nation’s security. As Australia’s premier industrial state, New South Wales companies play a vital role in providing the cutting-edge equipment used by the Australian Defence Force.
